Marsala Madness

Hello Queens!
Happy to catch up with all of you after a short festive break.Let's go back to business!

So far most of  you knew Marsala for being a delicious Sicilian wine(perhaps some of you even took some these last days). But in 2015 , Marsala is much more than wine ...

After Emerald and radiant orchid , from now on Marsala is the Pantone color of the year.

This wine-inspired color with undertones of brown and purple may seem  bold  at the first side, but marsala is a great neutral shade that will invigorate your wardrobe in 2015.

Now let's see how to rock this color this year.

How to choose it?
The color
In case you would get confused  between Bordeaux, Burgundy and Marsala
(it looks like an ongoing fight between French and Italian wine hues) it is time for us to help you... Here is what Marsala looks like: a rich red-brown shade.

Whether in a flat or textured material, or with a matte or gloss finish, this highly varietal shade combines dramatically with neutrals, including warmer taupes and grays. Because of its burnished undertones, sultry Marsala is highly compatible with amber, umber and golden yellows, greens in both turquoise and teal, and blues in the more vibrant range.

 The fabric

Marsala  color is sublimated by a fabric that has texture or sheen. For instance it looks  gorgeous in a satin secretary tie-top or a maxi  tulle skirt.

How to wear it?
On accessories
If you’re just trying to introduce Marsala  to yourself, you may do it with small accents. It's safest and less expensive. Bags , scarves, shoes you just name it , a lot of these accessories are expected in this color this year.

On a print
Again if  you’re not sure this hue is for you, wearing marsala by little touch in a print  or staying in a classic garment is the best way to get accustomed to the color .It allows you to pair it with other colors you love.

The marsala lumberjack is a typical exemple of  a classical print that will never go out of style .

Total look
You can wear Marsala from head to toe ,here the only rule is to play with hues going from dark red to brown.

For which style?
casual chic
Marsala on leather is the must for this year.
You may try the leather jacket to put right on top of a classic duo slim jeans-top. Another pairing to try , the marsala leather slim with a sweater.
Polish the look with eyecatching accesories like scarves and finish the look with heels or suede boots.

Vintage
Tuck your classic buttoned up shirt in a vintage midi skirt. Roll the sleeves to the 3/4 ,for a more dynamic look. Complete the look with heels ,wedges and statement purses or maxi bags.

 Chic
As we said before marsala loves to be combined with neutrals .
The duo white_marsala worth a try this year.On an urban chic note bring out your assymetric white skirt and pair it with a marsala  jumper(or vice versa).
On a more vintage look ditch the jumper  for  a turtleneck  sweater on a classic skirt. Finish the look with heels.

Queens!that's all today .So are you ready for the Marsala Madness?
