Sure, trends come and go – but It doesn’t look like we’re going to be rid of the peplum trend any time soon.
Peplum, ‘a flared or circular ruffle attached to the waist of a bodice or dress’, first became popular in the 1940s. It then showed up in a big way in the 1980s, and disappeared again before exploding on the scene once more – this time in a bright way– a couple of years ago.Since then peplum has taken on the most sceptical among us and has been seen quite literally everywhere, from European catwalks to our own red carpet.

When it comes to peplum, the problem is clearly of plenty: there’s as many cuts and styles as there are types of women in the world! How, then, do we pick the version most suited for us ? How to wear it?
Choose a peplum according to your body shape
Ladies we shall never stop insisting on the importance of dressing according to one's bodyshape. Therefore,it's important to know it first , because it isn't all kind of peplums that might suit you.
- The women in 8: your size is marked and your shoulders and your hips are aligned, the peplum cut suits you without restriction. In a bodice, a skirt or dress it will sublimate your silhouette. Do not forget that darker colours give a streamlined look which flatters the silhouette.
- The women V: shoulders more wide than hips. Peplum Wheels will rebalance the top and the bottom of your body.
-The women with a small stomach to be concealed neither seen nor known .Peplum bodices that have slightly higher waists – just an inch or two above the natural waistline – do wonders at concealing a midriff. The empire waist is your must for a flattering dress shape. Also make sure you pick a soft yet streamlined ruffle, rather than something super-structured that might have you look like a pagoda!

-The very thin women. Few buttocks and no hips? The peplos will bring them out for you, it is magic.Worn right, peplum can be the perfect cover-up for a less-than-curvy shape. Structured or flared peplums create the illusion of a curvier behind, as do prints and stripes – so say hello to patterns and strong shapes. Picking a streamlined skirt or trousers with a bit of peplum can help augment even the most slender curves.
-Short & Sweet
Because ruffles add breadth to the hip area, choose peplum with less volume if you’re on the shorter side; the width of the flare should, ideally, be eight inches or less. A single colour outfit will also help lengthen your frame so if you’re a fan of colour-blocking, remember: this isn’t the silhouette to show off your love for it.
-The women in A: That's silouhette which is slim of the top and which have hips.Sorry Queens but peplum are to avoid for your kind of bodyshape. This cut will stress them all the more and will still mark with advantage the difference between the top and the bottom of the body.
How to wear peplum
If you want to skip that dainty sun dress and try an edgier style, go with a peplum dress. Make sure the fabric of the dress stretches and that the skirt underneath is fitted to your figure. The key is to accentuate those curves! Besides, dresses are an easy answer to our "What do I wear?" because they are easy to style. All you have to do is find killer accessories to match and you are good to go!
Many women prefer a peplum skirt over a peplum dress because it means they get to be more creative. Peplum skirts can be mix and matched with a variety of tops and accessories. Give yourself the opportunity to get creative and discover different ways to wear your skirt with a blouse, jewels, or even retro slingback shoes.
